Communication Member Roles - Which one interests you?

Communication Member Roles

Communications Committee Secretary (good at notes) – Track what we’re doing (meeting minutes), help make arrangements/correspondence when Com Chair could use some help, advise how to improve organization in general.

Web Administrators (a name that will impress your techie friends) – Put content in Web Site - EZ to learn and fun to do, make advisement to Web Master.

Web Site Editor/Proof Reader (you catch web errors) –  Directly edit and correct content within web site, advise people submitting content and Web Master. 

Newsletter Publisher/Editor (if you like news)  – Collect and write explanatory content where needed for Lyris Weekly Email Newsletter. Determine topic priorities and general outline for Newsletter. Send content to Web Master and Newsletter Producer to layup.

Newsletter Producer (if you like arranging information and images)  – Sets up layout of Weekly Email Newsletter in Lyris, tests, gets final approval, and sends.  WYSIWYG editor – I’ll train and support you personally (fill in for you when you can’t do that week’s newsletter). 

Communications Networking Coordinator (a people person) – Network with individuals/groups supporting important issues and recruit JCDP members to be Issues Representatives (we can put a call out on Lyris for this). Encourage content from them; coordinate with Feature Speakers Coordinator in asking people of your network to be a speaker.  Give suggestions of how to better connect between the JCDP and Jackson County issues groups.

Press Releases Writer - Work directly work with Chair/Vice Chair to write press releases as needed. 

Coordinator of Letters to Editor (if you’re savvy with commentary and persuasion, and have a keen sense of priority)  – Works in conjunction with all committees to coordinate strategies for effective topical focus and deployment of letters to the editor.

Feature Speakers Coordinator (a people person)  – Recruit feature speakers for monthly Central Committee meetings (speakers subject to approval by Communications Chair and/ or Vice Chair or Chair). Also if you would like to help find speakers for Events, Jefferson radio, Institutions- SOU, etc.

Legislative Tracking Coordinator (closely follows important bills) – Works tightly with Chair/Vice Chair and other committees to relay information and provide insight.  Knows JCDP Platform, provides information for Web Site and Lyris Newsletter (an url addresses to more detailed information, with a header and simple summary of importance, direction, and call to action is all that’s needed).
