    NOWIA Unete Center for Farm Worker Advocacy is the new full name for the Medford-based group we used to call simply Unete, which has been one of the most consistent partners with CPJ in all our peace & justice activities and events. We urge you all to consider attending the event described below honoring the great Cesar Chavez on April 17th.  --Allen

    ChavezNOWIA Unete Center for Farm Worker Advocacy would like to invite you and your family to celebrate the Life and Legacy of Cesar Chavez with us on Friday, April 17 at 6:30 pm,  Medford Public Library, Large Conference Room,        205 S Central, Medford OR. 
 
The evening's program includes Whistling Elk Drum, 4-H Youth theater STOP THE HATE, dance, mural art and video. There will be a youth panel addressing issues related to higher education, at-risk behaviors and legislation affecting immigrants. 
 
For the first time at this year's event we will be honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the local immigrant community.  Please join us as we honor these individuals and commemorate the life of Chavez and his dream of dignity and justice for farm workers and immigrants.
