The League of Women Voters of the Rogue Valley and of Ashland encourage all community residents to attend the upcoming County Budget meetings and public hearings, give input and learn. As part of the LWV goals of increasing public information and supporting good government, the two Leagues are currently involved in a study of Jackson County's budget and the budget process.The Jackson County Budget Committee Meeting and presentation of the budget message will be held April 14, 1:30 pm at the County Courthouse. Budget Hearings will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Thursday, April 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the County Courthouse. The purpose of these meetings is to review department budgets. These are public meetings where any person may appear, ask questions, and comment on the budget.
