Last week, Senator Max Baucus, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee (which will have a huge hand in shaping health care reform this year) said, "Today we kicked off the process of writing a comprehensive health reform bill."¹

The Finance Committee will meet Tuesday to focus on coverage. Your Senator sits on the Finance Committee, so your voice is extremely important right now.

While they are working out what health care reform is going to mean this year, can you send a message to your Senator and tell them you want quality, affordable health care for all?

What does coverage mean?

It means they will be discussing how to reform the insurance industry so they can't deny pre-existing conditions.

It means they will be discussing how to get everybody in America covered.

And it means they will be discussing giving us a choice of a public health insurance option, so we're not left at the mercy of private insurance.

These hearings are the main way Congress formulates its ideas. What ends up in the health care reform bill is directly affected by what your Senators hear right now.
