Jackson County Democrats

An initial group of about 20 met on February 13 to organize a chapter of the Democratic Party of Oregon GLBT Caucus. The group approved bylaws and elected officers:

The group chose the name Southern Oregon Stonewall Democratic Caucus, "SOSDC" to signify their geographical area of membership throughout Southern Oregon as well as to indicate their national affiliation with Stonewall Democrats as well as the DPO GLBT Caucus. The group has been recognized by the Jackson County Democrats which looks forward to working with members of SOSDC to promote Democratic candidates and issues at all levels!

Laura Calvo came down from Portland to help with the organization. She serves as Treasurer of the Democratic Party of Oregon GLBT Caucus, Board of Directors Member of the National Stonewall Democrats, Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon Credentials Committee, and Secretary of the Democratic Party of Oregon's 3rd Congressional District Committee.
