Who We Are...The Democratic Party of Jackson County is hundreds of committed registered Democrats who stand for representative democracy that balances individual rights with the Common Good. What We Do…· Actively seek candidates for political office to represent us at all governmental levels. · Maintain a permanent office in Medford for committee meetings, computers and a resource library with a place to discuss issues. There are rooms for candidate’s offices during campaigns · Provide delegates to the Democratic Party of Oregon and the Second Congressional District who represent the needs of citizens of Jackson County.· Publish a monthly Newsletter of events, features and issues. Our Web Site provides updated information along with interactive discussion forums and detailed documents such as Platforms and links to candidates and Democratic Blogs.
How Do I Get Involved?
· The first step is to become a member of the Jackson County Democrats! Any registered Democrat is eligible to join, but we need your financial support to pay the rent and utilities and to finance forums, phone banks, web site and our monthly Newsletter.· Most of us want to help, but can’t afford to write a big check. The Grassroots movement within the Party encourages a larger membership give monthly gifts of $10, $25, $50 (or more) each month to provide a stable foundation. Why an Automatic Donation? · It will enable us to budget efficiently as we prepare programs, forums and campaigns. · It saves on the cost of fundraising which provides more funds directly for services and information.What are the benefits? · Members receive invitations and discounts to our events, a monthly email newsletter and special recognition in addition to supporting a great cause, · You make the difference in helping to elect responsible, ethical candidates to improve the quality of lives and our environment!
